Our property, which is divided into several distinct areas, had been without water for nearly two years after a fire. We took the opportunity last fall to do a ground up landscape overhaul with Daniel. From start to finish this was a positive experience. He visited the property, then created a preliminary, beautiful design. We met based on the plan, which gave us a visual basis for discussion. Daniel was welcoming and flexible about our suggestions, and offered alternatives where requested. His knowledge of plants is extensive, reflecting his formal training in landscape design. His "eye" is excellent--he selected perfect specimens and placed them "just so." The gardener he worked with for the installation, and his helper, were both hardworking and delightful. Everything went very smoothly. We are looking forward his visit after the winter to show him how nicely everything took. He absolutely made the most of our property.

I can't say enough good things about Daniel and Terra Verde. First and most importantly, Daniel is 100% not your run-of-the-mill Long Island lawn guy who also fancies himself a landscape designer. This is a man with a graduate degree in his field who knows this world back and forth, and it shows. His design sense is incredible and, after visiting our house to scout the property before he sketched a plan, he was flexible and creative enough to work within our budget without sacrificing the elegance of that plan. Daniel was also very engaged throughout the process, from keeping our preferences in mind during the design, to following up personally after everything was planted to offer advice on pruning and aftercare. The front of our home has never looked better and I am very grateful for his excellent work.

We could not be more pleased with the fantastic landscape design and construction work done by Terra Verde. Dan Greller created an inviting retreat for relaxing, entertaining, or simply enjoying nature. We have a wonderful blend of foliage and bold use of color that amazes year round. No matter where you look, it is a feast for the eyes - even if you are just pulling into the driveway or looking out of a window. After years of neglect, our property had become over-grown and unmanageable. Dan worked with us to develop a four "Phase" project that reconfigured our property over the course of 2+ years. Dan's design cleared it out, screened our corner property from street traffic, yet opened it up visually as you enter the garden. He introduced different levels and created visual highlights with the use of specimen trees and shrubs and landscape art. The property looks twice the size and amazingly is easier to maintain. Working with Dan was a great learning experience! He is extremely knowledgeable and patient and was willing to spend the extra time with us to find the several unique plants and trees that make our property special. The installation crews he used were excellent as well. They were responsive to our concerns as the project advanced and and it was reassuring to know that Dan was there to provide oversight. We constantly get compliments from from neighbors, friends, and even strangers. Dan is engaged in every project. He comes regularly to check on the property, which was especially appreciated during the extreme cold of the 2014/2015 winter.

Dan took the time to understand how we use the space, what was important to us, and considered our budget. He was thorough and patient with us as he explained the process and pros and cons of each decision. He transformed an awkward post-construction mess to a beautiful, full season landscape. It was a pleasure to work with Dan from start to finish. We continue to receive compliments from neighbors, friends and people simply passing by.

Dan brings so much to the process; no ego, team player, thorough presentation before ARB, value for fees, meets deadlines without prompts, great eye!! I had a wonderful experience renovating my yard with Terra Verde Landscape Architecture and Design (www.landscapetvla.com). After 20 years of living in this house, everything was overgrown, moldy, mossy, and our deck was rotting. I worked with the owner/designer Daniel Greller, who had great ideas to solve a lot of the problems we'd worked around for so many years. Once we had a plan nailed down, Daniel found us the contractor for the masonry and planting. The men who were at our house every day were as nice as could be. We did some tree work to get light that allowed me to try plants that would not have thrived before. At Daniel's suggestion we painted the fence, which helped give everything a fresh look and was much more cost effective than replacing it. The area adjacent to my garbage was narrow, overgrown and a sheet of ice in the winter. I hadn't thought of doing anything pretty there, but now it is blooming with roses! And why not? We use that space every day! Now the yard is my personal oasis! In warmer weather it is like having an extra room on the house. I sit out there with a book and a drink, surrounded by nature. The planting plan gives me lots of year-round color— I even have a plant that blooms in winter!
